DAVID ASBILL
Commissioner
My name is David Asbill. I have lived in Biscoe all of my life. I am a graduate of East Montgomery High School. After high school I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. I began working at the age of 15 at Miller’s Hardware in Biscoe and continued working there part time until I graduated college. I met many local people there and I enjoyed that time. Following graduation I began working at KM Machine Company in Biscoe and that is where I have remained since 1999. KM Machine has recently transitioned to Jordan Innovative Fabrication where I am currently employed as a Project Manager.
I have been married to my wife Lisa for 20 years. We have two children Alyssa and Ethan. We spend most of our time working around the house, gardening, attending church services/functions, watching and practicing baseball with Ethan or taking short RV trips.
My family has a long history in Biscoe. I can see the homes where the last four generations of my family were raised from my front porch. Both my grandfather and my father retired from the Biscoe Fire Department with more than 20 years of volunteer service. I have served on that same department since 2003 and hope to retire there as well. My father was employed as Superintendent of Public Utilities at the Town of Biscoe for 27 years. I spent the majority of my time as a teen and young adult learning about life and town business from him. That is where my desire to serve as Town Commissioner began. My goal is to see business growth here that will provide more local employment opportunities as well as new affordable housing. The Town of Biscoe has enormous opportunity to help its citizens and I would like to see that capitalized upon. Serving all of the town citizens is what local government should be about. Those people are what make Biscoe special.
